BAE - RENOVATION OF THE BUILDING ENVELOPE
RESIDENTIAL BUILDING BÄSTLEINSTRASSE LEIPZIG
The residential building at Bästleinstrasse 10 in Leipzig is a high-rise building in conjunction with three other high-rise buildings that defines the urban space. The chosen colors and structures preserve the existing image and set active accents in the cityscape. For the residents, the energetic quality of the building structure is improved.
To plan the renovation of these facade areas, the current condition of the curtain wall is first checked, including all associated components (windows, ventilation, connections, fastening structure, etc.). The existing cold-warm facade is replaced by a standardized post-and-beam facade with thermally insulated fillings in the style of a warm facade. The facade and terraces are protected against leaks, and rainwater will be drained away in a way that is harmless to the building.
Deficiencies, such as flammable materials in the facade structure, will be eliminated. The parapets will be reinforced in accordance with the applicable building permit so that fire spread from floor to floor is prevented. Fire-resistant elements will be installed.
The windows will be replaced with composite windows with opening sashes above the parapet level. Ventilation outlets and pipe connections from the living room via the facade areas can be removed, the air connection between the conservatory and the living room is simplified. Fresh air openings are created using so-called external air vents within the window elements. The external terrace and roof drainage will be checked and upgraded if necessary. The conservatories will be completely renovated inside.
