HBS - REFURBISHMENT, CAFETERIA EXTENSION, REFURBISHMENT AND CONVERSION OF FRONT BUILDING HAUSBURG-SCHULE BERLIN

The Hausburgschule in Berlin, a listed building dating from 1903-1906, is undergoing extensive refurbishment. The measures include the complete refurbishment of the front building including the roof and all sanitary areas, the continuation of refurbishment work already begun and the renewal of the building services. Acoustic ceilings will be added, the administration rooms will be bundled and an extension for the canteen will be realised, which will be connected to the existing sports hall. A new external lift will be installed in the inner courtyard to provide barrier-free access.

The extensions minimally exceed the extent of building utilisation according to the land use plan. The refurbishment is based on the 2019 model room programme and provides for adjustments to the existing building structures. The measures are being carried out on two parcels of land that are to be merged in the short term and are not within the scope of a development plan. New play and leisure facilities were added to the outdoor areas, which were last renovated in 1994-1999.
