H31 NEW EXTENSION BUILDING FOR CLINICAL ONCOLOGICAL RESEARCH, LABORATORY AREAS AT THE UK CARL GUSTAV CARUS DRESDEN

In the long term, a comprehensive oncology campus is to be created for the development of oncology in Dresden, which will bring together all central oncology functions of the university hospital, the medical faculty and partners. For this purpose, a portal building extension to building 31 has been planned. The integration into the existing building and the special function of a portal building had to be taken into account.

The existing house 31 is a two-storey solid building with a hipped roof, renovated in 2008, the facade has a perforated structure.

This research building has been assigned a neighbouring building with direct connections and a fitted, yet contemporary and at the same time durable exterior.

It is a 2-storey extension with an offset attic.

The construction work was carried out while maintaining hospital operations.
