H15 - UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL CARL GUSTAV CARUS DRESDEN: HOUSE 15 INTEGRATION 'UNIVERSITY CANCER CENTER', FIRE PROTECTION RENOVATION AND RENOVATION

Due to restructuring on the UKD site, 15 functions of the UCC (University Cancer Centre) were to be integrated into the building.

First and foremost, some essential fire protection improvements were necessary: the addition of an external staircase as a second escape route and the installation of a full-surface fire alarm system.

The following accompanying measures were carried out as part of the building renovation:

Spatial adaptations according to usage concept, renewal of doors and repair of windows and blinds, renovation of all surfaces: walls, ceilings, floors,

Renewal of sanitary, drinking water and electrical systems.

The building is a solid masonry structure from the founding days of the UKD with a striking combination of plaster surfaces and natural stone bases and surrounds on the outer facade. The roof is a hipped roof with dormers to provide light to the converted attic.
